In so many ways October was breathtaking. It was full to the brim with things that I will hold in my heart as long as I live. The schedule was jam packed but full of only wonderful things thanks to two incredible weddings, so many miles walked, dance parties, Halloween, a book swap and so much more. I got to spend so much time holding people I love dear close and telling them how much they mean to me. It was really something special.
When I was younger October was my favorite month, and in adulthood it has taken a back seat to August and December. This year October’s bid to the thrown was successful with it’s pristine weather, it’s continued stream of delights, and it’s steady feed of moments where I couldn’t believe how happy I was.
The feeling of wanting to capture things was so palpable all month long. I didn’t want to miss anything. I wanted to hold on to every second. It’s not surprising to me that I decided to buy a Polaroid system at the end of it all, you’ll see some of the images below.
I have a lot of nerves going into next week, but I’m trying not to focus on that. Instead, I spent some time today reflecting on the fullness of October, and the ways in which I am feeling held and loved heading into the end of the year.
Better things still ahead. See you next week.
